Conveyor feeds onions on to low end of first grader with a screen mesh opening of 40 mm to remove – 40 mm onions. More 40 mm onions are fed to second grader with a screen mesh opening of 75 mm to remove – 75mm onions. The remaining +75mm onions are discharged at the end of second grader.
It is a S.S. conveyor which is used to transfer onion from grader to peeling machine.
The Onion Peeling Machine is used to peel the onions conveyed from the grader.
The conveyor is used to transfer the peeled onion to the Slicing machine
The Slicing machine is used to cut the onions into slices
The onion slices are then transferred to Dryer with the help of a Transfer Conveyor
The onion slices are dried using hot air drying method. The hot air is generated using the boiler, which blows a powerful air on the product spread on 5 continuous conveyor belts.
The basic principle behind the operation of a batch-in-bin dryer is to force relatively large quantities of air through a shallow grain depth so as to obtain a rapid drying speed, thus allowing the producer to accommodate larger harvest rates with other types of in-bin drying.
Hot air conveyor is used to put the onion slices to further dry so as to obtain and maintain the desired moisture level.
A typical thermal fluid system is comprised of four main components:
The boiler system comprises of: a feed water system, steam system and fuel system. The feed water system provides water to the boiler and regulates it automatically to meet the steam demand. Various valves provide access for maintenance and repair. The steam system collects and controls the steam produced in the boiler. Steam is directed through a piping system to the point of use. Throughout the system, steam pressure is regulated using valves and checked with steam pressure gauges. The fuel system includes all equipment used to provide fuel to generate the necessary heat. The equipment required in the fuel system depends on the type of fuel used in the system.
The imperial dryer gets supply of hot air with the help of Thermic fluid boiler for drying the product.
